About Precision Medicine IBD

Effective therapies are available to induce and maintain remission in patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. However, prior to starting therapy, it is difficult to know which patients will respond favorably to certain medications. If the right treatment is not chosen at the right time, patients may be at risk for disease flares, hospitalization, and surgery. To facilitate Precision Medicine in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (PreMedIBD), clinical research tools are needed to guide patients and physicians in better understanding the likelihood of achieving clinically important outcomes prior to initiating a certain therapy.

INFLIXIMAB FOR ULCERATIVE COLITIS

This calculator allows to calculate the likelihood of achieving endoscopic healing in individual patients during infliximab induction and maintenance therapy. Endoscopic healing is defined as a Mayo Clinic endoscopic sub-score ≤1

Probability: 35%
95% CI: (11%-71%)

This calculator is made available as part of the publication: Vande Casteele N, Jairath V, Jeyarajah J, Dulai PS, Singh S, Shackelton LM, Feagan BG, Sandborn WJ. Development and Validation of a Clinical Decision Support Tool That Incorporates Pharmacokinetic Data to Predict Endoscopic Healing in Patients Treated With Infliximab. Certolizumab Pegol Therapy for Crohn's Disease

This calculator allows to calculate in patients with Crohn’s disease treated with certolizumab pegol therapy the likelihood of achieving remission at week 6 or 26 defined as a composite endpoint of a Crohn’s Disease activity Index score ≤ 150 and fecal calprotectin concentration ≤ 250 µg/g
